Jeff Seaman is an adept supply chain and vendor management professional with over 15 years’ experience in the technology and retail distribution markets. He is renowned within the supply chain and logistics communities for his expertise in corporate operations, implementing supply chain solutions, managing contracts, and leading diverse teams in every project he is involved with. Part of his experience entailed overseeing the implementation of an advanced contract management solution tailored to simplify, automate and control the end-to-end contracting lifecycle for SCI’s national distribution and transportation network (e.g., client and vendor contracts, change orders, MSAs, NDAs, LOIs, lease agreements and asset acquisition forms, etc.).

The Dotted Line: Mastering Best Practices for Contract Management
The Panel will discuss the contract strategies and practices that will carry procurement beyond 2017, including topics such:
- Demonstrating year over year continuous improvement within the contract
- Understanding the value of contract management as a lever in spend management
- Using non-disclosure agreements as a risk mitigation tool with key suppliers
- Examining how to manage complex contracts and cross-organizational demands
- Measuring the importance of process vs technology vs people in effective contract management
Also presenting on the MERX-ASC sponsored panel is Shawn King, Managing Director, MERX CLM Division (ASC).
Shawn King, founded ASC in 1992 with an initial focus on provision of IT development, operation and management services to companies such as IBM and Bell Canada. As Shawn’s entrepreneurial spirit thrived, he was instrumental in establishing early customer wins with ASC Contract Lifecycle Management Software (ASC Contracts) while also being the original architect, developer and operations manager. Under Shawn's leadership, the ASC portfolio has expanded to include cross-industry solutions for contract, document, form and CPQ lifecycle management and other business processes and serve businesses of any size and complexity. ASC Contract Lifecycle Management software is now part of the MERX offering.
Shawn has close to 30 years' progressive experience in technology and business leadership roles. Before starting ASC, Shawn was a Senior Software Developer at Mitel, a telecommunication systems and software company, and at Harris Computer Systems. Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Memorial University, with a joint computer science and mathematics major and a business administration minor.
